Left Smear Campaign

12 October 2007

I am so shock that the left continues to smear Rush Limbaugh on his comments regarding the “phony soldiers”. They continue to get the facts wrong and making themselves look like fools.

Like ABC News had the story about “phony soldiers” prior to his comments. Here is the story. Radio Equalizer has some follow up on this as well here. Will they condemn ABC? NO!

Of course, Michelle Malkin has been following it with these two post on it:
Fake War Hero Tom Harkin smears Rush Limbaugh
Rush Limbaugh, phony soldiers, and the Left’s desperate need for its own “Betray Us” moment.

DrudgeReport has this story from the Hill, here

Also, Harry Reid comdemned Rush on the Senate floor as well. Trying to beat the Congress with their resolution.

But, yet someone did offer a resolution in support of Rush.

Here is Rush’s comments:
Response to Harry Reid
Setting the Record Straight
What was actually said on Wednesday, September 26, 2007

But, the bottom line, here Rush giving an apology (NOT HIS!):
Apology on behalf of Media Matters and the Democratic Party

When will the Democrats, including all liberals, stop doing what they claim the Republicans have been doing since the first Clinton term?

It has been them who has been smearing from day one.

It sounds like the Democrats need to M-O-V-E O-N.

Three things to ponder

12 October 2007

Yet another humorous e-mail. Enjoy.

——————————-

Three Things to Ponder:

1. Cows

2. The Constitution

3. The Ten Commandments

Cows
*Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that our government can track a single cow born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she sleeps in the state of Washington? And, they tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give each of them a cow.
*
The Constitution
*They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq Why don’t we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it has worked for over 200 years, and we’re not using it anymore.
**
*The Ten Commandments
*The real reason that we can’t have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse is this: You cannot post “Thou Shalt Not Steal,” “Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery”, and “Thou Shalt Not Lie” in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians. It creates a hostile work environment.*

The right to sit at a desk

12 October 2007

Another e-mail I received October 1 2007 [today]. Enjoy.

———————

Back in September of 2005, on the first day of school, Martha Cothren, a social studies school teacher at Robinson High School in Little Rock , did something not to be forgotten. On the first day of school, with the permission of the school superintendent, the principal and the building supervisor, she removed all of the desks out of her classroom. When the first period kids entered the room they discovered that there were no desks.

Looking around, confused, they asked, “Ms. Cothren, where’re our desks?” She replied, “You can’t have a desk until you tell me what you have done to earn the right to sit at a desk.”

They thought, “Well, maybe it’s our grades.”
“No,” she said.
“Maybe it’s our behavior.”
She told them, “No, it’s not even your behavior.”

And so, they came and went, the first period, second period, third period. Still no desks in the classroom. By early afternoon television news crews had started gathering in Ms. Cothren’s classroom to report about this crazy teacher who had taken all the desks out of her room.

The final period of the day came and as the puzzled students found seats on the floor of the deskless classroom, Martha Cothren said, “Throughout the day no one has been able to tell me just what he/she has done to earn the right to sit at the desks that are ordinarily found in this classroom. Now I am going to tell you.”

At this point, Martha Cothren went over to the door of her classroom and opened it. Twenty-seven (27) U.S. Veterans, all in uniforms, walked into that classroom, each one carrying a school desk. The Vets began placing the school desks in rows, and then they would walk over and stand alongside the wall.

By the time the last soldier had set the final desk in place those kids started to understand, perhaps for the first time in their lives, just how the right to sit at those desks had been earned.

Martha said, “You didn’t earn the right to sit at these desks. These heroes did it for you. They placed the desks here for you. Now, it’s up to you to sit in them. It is your responsibility to learn, to be good students, to be good citizens. They paid the price so that you could have the freedom to get an education. Don’t ever forget it.”

This is a true story….
If you can read this – thank a teacher!
If you can read it in English – thank an American soldier

Iowa State returns to Cardinal and Gold

12 October 2007

Originally posted on September 26 2007:

Iowa State athletic announced the new look for the 2008 campaign. The story is here

It is back to cardinal and gold uniforms. This is great. Back to the colors I was familiar with when I was growing up in the Iowa State community. Check out the home uniform here and away uniform version 1 and version 2. I am not sure about the logo, “I” with State across it. The AD did not offer many choices here for fans to vote on, but I understand their decisions based on the FAQ page.

I guess going to the letter logo was a good idea. The “I” does remind me of the original Cy logo which had the gold “I” on its chest. I do like the fact that they listened to the fans and abandoned the white helmet. That was not a very good initial decision. Great job to those fans who suggested a more appropriate helmet color, cardinal.

I hope they continue to use the current Cy and original Cy logos appear on clothing apparel. I would not like to see the university lose those rights.

The Bell

Enclosed is another e-mail I received September 24 2007 [today]. The text is a screen shot of how it appears. (It’s difficult to do in a blog post!) Enjoy.

This is an awesome e-mail…..someone took a lot of time setting up this message, I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did…

60 Years Later

12 October 2007

Another e-mail I received about the Holocaust. Since I unable to republish the cartoon, I found it on the web here. It is color cartoon fifth from the top of the page.

Here was the e-mail:
———————————————————————-

Please read the little cartoon carefully, it’s powerful. Then read the comments at the end, and please – forward it! We cannot, we must not, ever forget what happened in Europe over 60 years ago, because it could happen again. Anyone, any group, could be the target. It has been said that those who refuse to study history are doomed to repeat it. In this case, those who are attempting to rewrite history are probably planning to repeat it! The hatred is already there, in place, taught to the children from infancy, with promises of glory and honor to those who carry out the plans. Forewarned is forearmed, and I’m doing my small part by forwarding this message. I hope you’ll do the same.

<cartoon was inserted here>

It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended. This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the six million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians and 1,900 Catholic priests who were murdered, massacred, raped, burned, starved and humiliated while the world looked the other way!

Now, more than ever, with Iran , among others, claiming the Holocaust to be “a myth,” it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets, because there are others who would like to do it again.

The Islamic extremists are bent on the same thing that Hitler and Stalin were. The conquest of the world and the destruction of anyone who doesn’t believe the way they do. The rest of the Muslims who say or do nothing about them are as guilty as the extremist.
