One of the surprises in the artist of year winners was the female artist. On my local Christian radio stations, it is hard to find any new female artist’s songs in the Top 20 of the Christian charts these day. The Contemporary Christian Music genre is dominated by groups and male artists.

It was good to see Point of Grace back again but in a different sub-genre:

This album has East to West on it, so I knew this album would win. Big night for Casting Crowns.
Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year
They had a tribute to Michael W Smith on the show. So, if you love Christmas music, Michael W Smith wins it. I have this on my wish list at Amazon, but it is no longer available.
