Pittsburgh Penguins advance to Stanley Cup Finals

18 May 2008

Pittsburgh Penguins convincingly won Game 5 today over the Philadelphia Flyers, 6-0, to win the Prince of Wales Trophy as the Eastern Conference Champions.  The Pens won the series, 4-1.

I will be the first to admit that I was wrong to pick the Flyers.  But, the Flyers had beaten the number three and number one seeds and were playing well.  And, I stayed with the Flyers when they lost key defensemen at the beginning of the series.

The Penguins earned to be in the Stanley Cup finals.  They must have learned some things from watching the Western Conference Game 5 yesterday afternoon.  They played their game and won. This will be their key to winning in the Finals.

They will be a difficult team to beat in the Finals.  It will also be a difficult pick if the Detroit Red Wings make in it the West.  So, let us see if the Red Wings learned anything from this game to taken into tomorrow Western Conference Game 6 tomorrow night.

Graduation Speech 2008

18 May 2008

Here is a graduation speech that should be heard at college campus.  [Press play to hear it]

Whether you agree with Rush Limbaugh or not,  it would be a uplifting and encouraging speech to prepare these graduates to begin their work in making this country great.

I wonder if any campus in this country would invite him to speak next spring?
