Pittsburgh Penguins convincingly won Game 5 today over the Philadelphia Flyers, 6-0, to win the Prince of Wales Trophy as the Eastern Conference Champions. The Pens won the series, 4-1.
I will be the first to admit that I was wrong to pick the Flyers. But, the Flyers had beaten the number three and number one seeds and were playing well. And, I stayed with the Flyers when they lost key defensemen at the beginning of the series.
The Penguins earned to be in the Stanley Cup finals. They must have learned some things from watching the Western Conference Game 5 yesterday afternoon. They played their game and won. This will be their key to winning in the Finals.
They will be a difficult team to beat in the Finals. It will also be a difficult pick if the Detroit Red Wings make in it the West. So, let us see if the Red Wings learned anything from this game to taken into tomorrow Western Conference Game 6 tomorrow night.
