John Hawkins@Townhall – Eight Problems with Conservative Moment Right Now

John Hawkins has a good article detailing 8 problems with the conservative movement. Read here.

Here is what he considers the 8 problems are:

1. Taking Care Of The Base
2. Where’s Our Soros?
3. Practicality vs. Purity
4. Technophobia
5. Ronald Reagan Isn’t Coming Back
6. We Don’t Reach Out To New Constituencies
7. Not Defending Our Own
8. Abandoning Our Principles In Office

Most of these problems I can understand.

For example, I do not expect the next conservative leader to be Ronald Reagan, but take the ball to advance what Reagan had begun.  But, I do expect the conservative leader to hold to his or her principles and not abandon them once they begin to serve us in office.

It is difficult to give money to the party when they do not follow through.  But, unlike other conservatives who like to start a new party because so-and-so did not get the nomination, I will support the person who best represent my views regardless of their party affiliation.
