It was very fitting for the NHL 2008 Winter Classic to go to the shootout. Sidney Crosby scored in the final round of the shootout by beating Ryan Miller through the five hole to give the Pittsburgh Penguins a 2-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabers.

The crowd was great. The national anthems was a moving experience. The crowd was unbelievably loud during the game, especially on TV. The Buffalo fans and those who attended the game must had a great experience to make all that noise during the game Awesome job, Buffalo!

As for the game, it was fantastic! It was a great game to watch. A quick goal in the first period by the Pens, some great hits by both teams despite the weather, the grounds crew fixing the ice, and the league making sure for the safety of the players.
