Final Week of 2007-2008 NHL Season

With the final week of the NHL 2007-2008 Season, the race for playoff spots are on the line.

In the East, Pittsburgh and Montreal have each clinched a playoff spot. They are still battling for the top seed in the conference. Carolina, New Jersey, New York Rangers, Ottawa, Boston, and Philadelphia currently own the current playoff spots. Washington and Buffalo have a chance to make it with 3 games remaining.

In the West, Detroit, San Jose, Minnesota, Anaheim, and Dallas have clinched playoff spots. Detroit has the number one seed and can it lock up with a win and San Jose loss. The Red Wings look to win the President Trophy again. The remaining teams in the playoff spots are Colorado, Calgary, and Vancouver. Nashville, Edmonton, and Chicago have chance to gain a spot with less than 3 games remaining.

These final games will make the difference for these teams to make the playoffs. Catch these final games this week on Versus, NBC, CBC, or local Fox Sports cable station. Playoffs start later next week.
