Boston Bruins NHL Eastern Confernce Champions

Boston Bruins pulled it out in the third period of game 7 to defeat Tampa Bay Lightning, 1-0, and the series 4-3.  The story is here.  It was great defensive game that resulted in no penalties.

It has been 21 years since the last time Boston was in the Stanley Cup Finals when they lost to Edmonton Oilers 4 games to 1.  As demonstrated in this game 7, this team has played well 5-on-5.  Their scoring lines are contributing big and the blue liners are playing well.  And of course, Tim Thomas has been excellent in goal.  Despite their good play, the biggest problem on this team is their power play.  However, fortunes could change in the next series.

Congratulations to the Bruins.

In Conference Finals, I was 2-0 but had the number of games played reversed.  Current record is 10-4 with +4 in number of games played.

Look for my prediction next week.  Otherwise, check out what the computer picked for this year’s Final.  Amazing.
