2013 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs – Conference Quarterfinals

Well, hockey’s second season starts tonight after a shorten regular season.   NHL.com provides the coverage of each series.

Here are my picks for the Conference Quarterfinals.

In the East,

Pittsburgh vs New York Islanders

No doubt the Penguins are the best in East.  Although the Islanders won the first game in the regular series, the Penguins have owned them since.  But the Islanders will make it interesting as the Pens win in 6.

Montreal vs Ottawa

A match-up between two of three Canadian teams.  Since I do not have NHL Network on my ATT UVerse service, I have not seen much of these Canadians teams this year. So, Canadiens in 6.

Washington vs New York Rangers

This is going to be good series.  It should go the distance, but the Rangers win it in 7.

Boston vs Toronto

Despite losing the last game of the season, this series may be beneficial to the Bruins.  Another good series to watch.  Bruins in 6.

In the West,

Chicago vs Minnesota

As withe Pens in the East, the Blackhawks are best in the West.  If they continue to play like they did in first 24 games of the season, the Hawks are hard to beat.  But, the Wild played well against the Hawks this year.  Should be a good series as the Blackhawks take it in 6.

Anaheim vs Detroit

The Ducks are going to best challenger to the Hawks in the playoffs this year.  But, they will have to get by the Red Wings who have not look like past Red Wings teams.  Ducks in 6.

Vancouver vs San Jose

With any playoff series, one must find the upsets.  This series is one where the lower seed will prevail. Sharks in 6.

St Louis vs Los Angeles

Last year it was a sweep, but the Blues will ready this year.  Should be another good series to watch as the Kings win in 7.

All games in the States should be on either NBC Sports Network, CNBC, and/or NBC.
