2016 NHL Eastern Conference Champions

Congratulations to the Pittsburgh Penguins on winning the Prince of Wales Trophy as Eastern Conference champions.  The Penguins defeated last year’s Eastern Conference champion, Tampa Bay Lightning, last night 2-1 and winning the series 4-3.  The Penguins will play the the Western Conference Champion, San Jose Sharks, next Monday in Pittsburgh.  Good luck to both teams.

Congratulations to the San Jose Sharks on winning the Campbell Bowl as the NHL Western Conference last night by defeating St Louis Blues in best of seven, 4-2. The Sharks will play the winner of the Eastern Conference, Pittsburg Penguins or Tampa Bay Lightning, on Monday. It will be their first appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Congratulations to the Chicago Blackhawks on winning the 2015 Stanley Cup. The Blackhawks defeated Tampa Bay Lightning last night in Game 6 of the series, 2-0 and winning the series 4-2. It is the third championship for the Hawks in the last 6 years. It is the first time in 77 years that the Hawks won the Cup on home ice. Congratulations to Duncan Keith on winning the Conn Symthe Trophy as the most valuable player in the playoffs.  It was the ninth time a defenseman won it.

 

Looking forward for a repeat performance in 2016.

Congratulations to the Chicago Blackhawks on winning the Campbell Bowl as the NHL Western Conference last night by defeating Anaheim Ducks in best of seven, 4-3.  The Hawks will play the Eastern Conference champion Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday in Tampa.  It will be their third appearance in the last 6 years. Go Hawks!

Congratulations to the Tampa Bay Lightning on winning the Prince of Wales Trophy as Eastern Conference champions.  Tampa Bay defeated last year’s Eastern Conference champion, New York Rangers, 4-3.  The Lightning will play the winner of the Western Conference Finals next Wednesday.

2012 NHL Eastern Conference Champions

Congratulations to the New Jersey Devils for winning the 2012 NHL Eastern Conference Finals. The Devils defeated the top seed in the East, New York Rangers, 3-2 in overtime last night’s Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals. NHL story here. NBC Sports story here. Yahoo story here.

With the Devils winning, I am now 8-6 while picking two more game than played. I spoke too soon about NY vs LA series. But, still remains a true East Coast versus West Coast series. The Stanley Cup Finals start on Wednesday in New Jersey. Schedule can be found here.  Games in the States will be on NBC or NBC Sports.

2012 NHL Western Conference Champions

Congratulation to the Los Angeles Kings, the 2012 NHL Western Conference Champions!

The Los Angeles Kings defeated the Phoenix Coyotes, 4-3 in overtime last night in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals.  The story here at NHL.com here and NBCSports here.

With the Kings winning, I am now 8-5 while picking one more game than played.  It might look like a NY vs LA series this year.  Would that be good for hockey?
