Review 28 January 2008:

Scholastic, INC introduces a new Star Wars series, Rebel Force, written by Alex Wheeler.  In this series, we return to follow the original trio of the Star Wars universe, Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo.  Of course, Chewbacca, C3-Po, and R2-D2 play a role in this series as well.

Following the destruction of the first Death Star, we follow our favorite group of Rebels on their next mission, to obtain codes to secret accounts that would help continue to finance the Alliance since the destruction of Leia’s home world, Alderaan.  The journey has unexception twists and turns, as Luke struggles to grasp the Force.

Meanwhile, the Emperor has made it a priority to find the person who destroyed the Death Star.  Enter in, a new assassin, X-7, who is set to rid of the enemies of the Empire upon the orders of Commander.  Trained to be best, X-7 know he will find his man.   Our trio does are not sure what to think of X-7, but allow him into the Alliance anyway.

In following the footsteps of Jude Watson, Mr Wheeler brings us more insight into our favorite Star Wars characters trying to bring peace back to the galaxy.

Check my website to see what I am reading, have read, or will be reading in the Star Wars Universe at my website.

Update 6 October 2008:

Similar to Rise and Fall of Darth Vader, Ryder Windham brings together a chronicle of Obi-Wan Kenobi into a single volume, The Life and Legend of Obi-Wan Kenobi.  Written as Luke Skywalker prepares to rescue Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt, the story of Kenobi is told as Luke wonders what Ben experienced as a Jedi Knight.  The stories mostly come from the Jedi Apprentice and Jedi Quest seriess with added details, but the books details his last mission, to watch over Luke Skywalker.   As his former Jedi Master teaches him a new Jedi art, Kenobi will come to know that there is one final act for the Chosen One, forgiveness.

As a bonus in the book, the reader is also introduce to the future Dark Lord in the Dark Horse’s Legacy series.

Update 8 May 2008:

Jude Watson has written a great conclusion to the Last of the Jedi Series. The day of reckoning has approached for Ferus Olin. Ferus must make a decision between the light and dark side and how to deal with the recently discovered facts about who Darth Vader is.  Whatever his decision, it will impact the planned gathering of the newly formed Rebel group meeting on the hidden asteroid Ferus set up to hide the Jedi from the Empire.   As his friends discover the identity of one spy to destroy the group, the Dark Lord has already put into motion another deadly backup plan to rid the galaxy of the remaining Jedi and crush the newly formed Rebel group by testing a secret weapon.   Some are lost, but the future is bright for those who follow the light.
