2016 NHL Western Conference Champions

Congratulations to the San Jose Sharks on winning the Campbell Bowl as the NHL Western Conference last night by defeating St Louis Blues in best of seven, 4-2. The Sharks will play the winner of the Eastern Conference, Pittsburg Penguins or Tampa Bay Lightning, on Monday. It will be their first appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals.

NHL Conference SemiFinals start on Friday for the Western Conference.  Here are the match ups in the West and in the East.

Western Conference

Blues – Kings Blues in 6
Coyotes – Predators Predators in 6
Eastern Conference

Rangers – Capitals Rangers in 7
Flyers – Devils Devils in 7

2012 NHL Conference Quarterfinals

The chase for the 2012 Stanley Cup begins tomorrow.  In the States, NBC, CNBC, NBC Sports Network, and NHL Network (US) will be broadcasting the games.  NHL.com has great coverage for this year’s playoff.  Check out the schedule link and each of the quarterfinal links below.

2012 NHL Awards

Here are the known 2011-2012 NHL Awards winners to date:

President Trophy (League best club)
Vancouver Canucks

Art Ross Trophy (League scoring champion)
Pittsburgh Penguins center Evgeni Malkin

Maurice Richard Trophy (League’s top goal scorer)
Tampa Bay Lightning center Steven Stamkos

William Jennings Trophy (Club surrendered the fewest goals)
St Louis Blues goaltenders Brian Elliott and Jaroslav Halak

Campbell and Prince of Wales Trophy winners will be known when the Conference Finals are played in May.  Later this month, NHL will announce the nominees for the remaining awards this month. These award winners will be announced at NHL Awards Show in Las Vegas upon the conclusion of the playoffs.
